FAQ

How many people can you accommodate?
We have hosted intimate weddings as well as events with up to 200 guests.

What is the fee?
Our fee for the Basic Package is $6,800 for up to 150 guests, and includes the use of the grounds to the South and the West of the main house.  We provide water and electrical hook-up, though we require the rental of a back-up generator.

The Bridal Suite package is an additional $600/$350, and includes access to both or one of the upstairs bedrooms, each with private bath. These rooms can be used the day of the wedding for the bridal party to get ready for the ceremony, and to change into evening-wear for the reception. Some first look photos can be taken in the bedrooms, the main hallway, and the wrap-around staircase.

The First Look package is an additional $600 fee, and includes access to the main entrance to the house including the wrap-around staircase, the Reception Room, the Drawing Room designed by Stanford White, and the Library for First Look and family photographs.

Can we get ready for the wedding in the house?
Yes! The Red Room and the Italian Room, each with private bath, are available for the happy couple to use. $600 for both, $350 for one, includes access to some indoor spaces for first look photographs. We lock to house doors at 10:30 pm so all personal belongings should be removed from the rooms by the day-of coordinator by that time.

Can we use the front porch?
Yes! The porch is perfect place for your cocktail hour and late evening hang-out.

What if it rains? Can we move the wedding indoors?
No, we are an outdoor venue only.

Do you offer on-site housing?
No, we do not. You may rent the Red Room and Italian Room for the day, but none of the rooms are available for overnight stays. The houses on the property are rented out year-round and not not available to rent.

Can we have amplified music?
Yes, amplified music can go until 10:30PM, and un-amplified music until midnight.

Can we have a bonfire?
Yes!  You can have a beautiful bonfire built by our good friend and artist who will source the wood from Rokeby, and will design a one-of-a-kind bonfire for your event.  Alternatively, you may use a portable fire-pit, so long as it has been approved by us.  If there is a state-wide or county-wide fire ban, then no open flame will be permitted.

Is there enough space for parking?
Yes, there is space for plenty of cars on either side of the driveway that leads up to the house. The cars will not be in view of the ceremony or reception.

Do you supply the tent, tables, chairs, etc?
No, but we have a list of great people to work with!

Can we use the bathrooms in the house?
No, our 200 year old plumbing would not be able to handle the festivities.

Can our guests be in the house?
No, though the house has been the scene of quite a few great parties, one which actually caused the floor in the drawing room to collapse!

Can you help us find vendors?
Yes, we have a list of vendors that we will gladly share with you. You may also bring in your own.

Do you provide wedding planning services?
No, but we have a list of wonderful wedding planners that we would be glad to share with you.

How many weddings do you have at Rokeby?
As Rokeby is a family residence, we only host a handful of weddings a year.

Can we come tour the grounds?
Absolutely! Please contact Marina, our site manager (and resident flower farmer) at shovingleopardfarmflowers@gmail.com.
